How would you describe your life so far in a six-word sentence? How often would your 'life sentence' change?

The Weekend

Friday, Master and i did not stray for our routine which is - take out and relaxation night. It was awesome, as per usual.

Saturday it was pretty obvious early on that poke night was cancelled. We did not get any snow, but everyone else who was invited did. So... poker night would have been a very small game of just J and i. We ran some errands together and then i went off on my own for awhile. I got a coat - originally $109 - i paid $21. Awesome.

As i was pulling onto the street J called me and said Erik and Maria were on their way over. AAAAHHH!!! I ran around the house preparing and getting my baking for Sunday done. I followed a new recipe for the icing which I really liked - minus the buuter flavoring it called for. Ick. It was the first thing you tasted. I liked the flavor of the icing that followed but I feel like the flavoring ruined it.

Once they arrived, Maria and I had a girls bitching session in the kitchen while Erik and J played Avatar. Then the two buddies ran out to get chinese food and beer I stayed up way past my bed time till about 2:00 or so. Wohoo. We ate, drank, and played a little Wii.

After they left J and I played a little Mario nad then promptly crashed into the bed. I woke up in a mild state of panic and 8:00. I had wanted to leave the house at 8:00. I was out by 9:00 and there by 11:00 but it meant I had to rush to put Libbie's Cupcake together. I wanted to take my time on it and make it really preatty but I didn't really have the time. :( I need to start saving boxes so I can decorate at home and transport the big cupcakes decorated. They don't fit in my cake carrier.

The 1 year old party princess was ADORABLE on Sunday. She looked beautiful in her dress and just ran around being a wonderful hostess. She giggled, cooed and was very loving to everyone who came over. She opened a present all on her own that had a Dora doll in it and she was so excited! She handed it to me and stared with giggles while I struggled to free Dora from her box bondage. Well she stared till she got bored but she came back as soon as Dora was free.

After everyone left I tried to help my BFF get her kitchen back in order and then held the little princess and sang to her till she fell asleep. *sigh of hapiness*
Putting her down was tough.
Very tough.

My Princess, Elizabeth.

Chocolate Cake Recipe!

For the Snitchers and Cake Lovers
Photobucket
Photo and Recipe by Bakerella (albeit the recipe is slightly modified)

Based on this Recipe
http://www.bakerella.com/got-milk-i-hope-so%e2%80%a6/

I made Devil's Food Cake from a box in a lightly floured cheesecake pan. After I poured about 1/3 of the batter in the pan I put sprinkled about a 1/3 cup of peanut butter chips. Then poured in the rest of the batter. They mostly sunk to the bottom which is what I wanted. It took longer than the box said it would, I think about 45/50 minutes. After the cake cooled completely I sliced into three layers.

Then I filled between the layers with the recipe for a peanut butter filling behind the cut.
Filling )

Then I followed the directions on Bakerella.Com for the Icing
"Place chopped 8 oz. dark chocolate in a medium bowl. Bring 1 cup heavy whipping cream just to a boil and then pour over chocolate. Whisk until chocolate melts. Add peanut butter and whisk until smooth. "

I tried to whisk by hand and was fine till I added the peanut butter but then I had to switch to my hand mixer with the whisk attachment. To get the consistency I wanted I wound up adding a little extra heavy whip.

I put it outside (because it was 30 degrees out for 5 minutes and then I brought it outside and pressed the Reese's Cups into the frosting. After finishing I put the whole thing outside again.

Note: Next time I think I would do 6 inch pans and do four layers of cake.

*peeks out*

I'm sick. :(

This means that I can not go see Maria's beautiful baby girl. Our friends Maria and Erik had their baby on Wednesday. We went over there Wednesday night, to congratulate and coo but I haven't seen them since then. Little Clara was 8lbs 1 oz and born at 12:37 via CSection. Mommy is doing well but poor Clara has a little jaundice. :( Yesterday, I found an awesome changing table for them on Freecycle. They were psyched to receive it. Well Erik was pysched and Maria was wary. She thought they did not need one. This morning she called to tell me how awesome it is. Score. It is my plan to go over there on Tuesday - with all hope germ free.

Today we had my mom, brother and his girlfriend over to celebrate my brother's birthday. He's 22, I still can't believe he is older than 12. We had Chicken Fettucine Alfredo with Steamed Brocoli. Master had peas, special just for Her, as she does not like brocoli. I made the sauce and bread from scratch. And I baked him a chocolate peanut butter concotion of goodness. It was a really fun good day. Exactly what I think my bro wanted - he seemed super happy. After putting the cake down on the table, I leaned to get try to get the camera and almost set my hair and boob on fire. LOL. Danielle, Erik's girlfriend, laughed so hard she snorted. Good times. We have cleaned everything up and the hosue is wonderfully clean. In fact, as soon as this is done it's nyquil time.

Work continues to kick my ass. Taking this position on has been a much rougher transition than I anticipated. The job is really hard to accomplish in 40 hours and I rarely do. I have had overtime every single week. The girl I took over for was salary. So she would work 50 hours a week and regularly take work home. I am hourly and therefore pressured to not work more than 40 hours - and it's really tough to get it all done. Especially because of the merger, end of year financial wrap ups and oh yes we are transitioning into a new payroll system and I have to set up employee profiles and schedules for every one of our employees. Joy!

I just have to get through Dec 23 and then Schering is closed till January 4th. 11 days of family, friends and no work.

Bliss.

Ok, Bed. I miss and love you. Yes, you. :)
